Portugal will face the Czech Republic in the Euro 2024 Group F match which will take place in Leipzig on Wednesday (19/6). Portugal coach Roberto Martinez stated that he understands the Czech Republic's strength.
Martinez revealed that he had read the Czech game. The coach did not hesitate to praise his opponent.
"When I watched the Czechs, I was amazed by their style of play that has endured over the years, a team that is not afraid to take risks," Roberto Martinez said.
"They like to play one-on-one, have an offensive mentality. It's a tough opponent," he continues.
Portugal defender Ruben Dias said that at Euro 2024 all opponents have the same opportunity. Therefore, they must always give their best in every match.
"We have to go into this Euro with the attitude of being ready to beat ourselves, not just certain opponents," Ruben Dias explained.
Being in Group F, besides the Czechs, Portugal must compete with Turkey and Georgia to try to qualify for the round of 16.
In the previous Euro, Portugal only made it to the round of 16 before being defeated by Belgium 0-1.
