The Czech Republic will face Portugal in a Euro 2024 Group F match at Leipzig Stadium on Wednesday (19/6). Against one of the favourites, Czech Republic coach Ivan Hasek insists his team is ready to prove themselves. Czech coach Ivan Hasek insists that his team is ready to prove themselves.

Hasek also said that despite being underdogs against Portugal, his troops are fearless.

"Portugal are favourites to win the Euro, while we are considered underdogs," Hasek was quoted as saying on Uefa's website.

"Every game has a 50-50 chance of winning. We don't need to be too afraid. We have to be proactive, get involved in the game, and not just passively defend," he continued.

Meanwhile, Rep. Czech defender Tomas Holes revealed that he would love to stop Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo in the match.

"Playing against Ronaldo is a dream come true for me. Because I have followed his career," Holes said.

"Ronaldo is one of the biggest stars along with Messi, and I can't wait to face him."

The positive tone also came from Rep. Czech captain Tomas Soucek. For him, the match against Portugal will be one of the biggest in the careers of the Czech players.

"We know the quality of Portugal. They are one of the favourites, not just in the group, but the tournament. Although it will be difficult, we will try hard from the first minute to the end. We're going to have the biggest game of our career," Soucek said.

In Group F, the Czech Republic will not only face Portugal but will also have to compete with Turkey and Georgia to qualify for the last 16.

The Czech Republic will be aiming to at least match their achievements in the previous Euro, where they made it to the quarter-finals before being defeated by Denmark 1-2.
