England Fan: Fell Asleep at the Stadium, Woke Up at Four in the Morning

The England national team is always in the spotlight at major tournaments, be it the Euros or the World Cup. With a league that in fact has the status of the world's best league, the Premier League, the England national team also has a lot of talent in the squad.

Ironically, the Three Lions have never won since the 1966 World Cup and have never won the Euros. The curse will try to end at Euro 2024, which is currently underway in Germany.

England started their journey in group C with a narrow 1-0 win over Serbia at the Veltins-Arena through a single goal from Jude Bellingham. England's performance was not optimal, but in the end Gareth Southgate's men won three points.

The match took place on Monday (17/06) early morning WIB and there was one unique incident that occurred after the match ended, then went viral on social media.

It was the moment when an England fan fell asleep at the Veltins-Arena stadium, Gelsenkirchen, then woke up the next day at four in the morning. "I just woke up, it's four in the morning," said the fan.

The fan showed his face as well as the empty stadium. It is suspected that he waited at the stadium because of the chaos after the game, with fans having difficulty travelling due to security issues and English fans being in Gelsenkirchen for hours.

Netizens commented on the fan who fell asleep in the stadium and their reactions were... unique.

"This is what happens when you watch a boring Southgate game," said one fan. "Probably better (to fall asleep) than being trapped on the Gelsenkirchen train."

"Had too much beer. Maybe, it still takes four hours for him to return home," added another fan.

England will play their next match against Denmark at the Dusseldorf Arena on Thursday (20/06) at 23.00 WIB. Denmark need a win after a 1-1 draw against Slovenia, who are returning to the Euros after 20 years.
